REFUGIO BOSQUE AZUL is located in the Chachapoyas cloud forest. It is a lodge that seeks to create a connection with nature: it was designed to welcome small groups and families who enjoy hiking, observing endemic birds, and exploring hidden archaeological sites.

Every space and every detail of the lodge has been carefully considered. For this reason, the walls of the rooms have been built using the ancient technique of rammed earth, which maintains an ideal indoor temperature. We have electricity thanks to a solar energy system and water from the headwaters of the Utcubamba River. We treat wastewater with biodigesters and an artificial wetland.

We work with suppliers from the Amazonas region and other areas from Peru, who deliver us fresh products for our meals. Dishes vary according to the availability of our garden and local producers.

The lodge is staffed by people of great human quality. They will welcome all visitors with open arms, to make their stay a memorable experience.

Welcome

We have four rooms for private groups of up to ten people. The rooms are warm at night and cool during the day, thanks to the earthen walls with which they have been built.

All are equipped with comfortable beds, and thick duvets for the coldest nights. They have a private bathroom, toiletries, towels and electricity.

Leymebamba, at 2,210 meters above sea level, is a town of farmers and ranchers, whose mountains are covered in forests. To protect them, the community created the Los Chilchos Valley Private Conservation Area, comprising 46,000 hectares. It promotes responsible tourism, organic coffee production, and the protection of biodiversity and endangered species.
